We Donated Our Fur Coats To Ukraine

How Our Vintage Fur Coats Helped Refugees In Ukraine

You may have seen on our socials last week, we have decided to do some good with the vintage fur jackets we have built up over the years.
_
We process over 20,000kgs of second hand clothing every single week at our warehouse, and while they don’t buy fur product from our vintage suppliers across Europe and the USA, on occasion some slip through the net and we find them in our vintage bales now and again.
_
Once we'd built up around 600 coats (which took us a number of years!), we got in touch with Animal Rights Organisation PETA who regularly distribute donated fur coats to the homeless and refugees all over the world to keep them warm. PETA work with the International Aid Trust who wanted the fur coats to help Ukrainians impacted by the war.

We filled up a lorry and the International Aid Trust sent them to areas near Kyiv, where they were distributed to local people and refugees from the Donbas region to keep them warm during the extremely cold winter they’ve been experiencing.

Julie from the International Aid Trust:
Some of the distribution of aid to areas near the front lines often has to be done very quickly as Russian drones can be looking for our team’s vans…As you can see from the snow [in the images] it is very cold and the coats were very gratefully received”.

The International Aid Trust are making regular aid trips to Ukraine and if you’d like to help, (including donating your own fur coat!), head to the International Aid Trust website for more information.
_
Right now they're in urgent need of: Food, medical supplies, clothing and toiletries, household items and camping equipment.
Or if you're able, you can make a monetary donation to the International Aid Trust to support their aid efforts here.

We want to thank The International Aid Trust for helping us get these fur coats to those in need! As PETA say, we can’t undo the cruelty that’s already been done, but we can ensure that these furs go toward protecting vulnerable people in need.
