Enjoy a little zen time in and out of the city centre of Manchester, with our recommended hotspots to walk in greenery or by the waterside. Take a book or grab a coffee and go enjoy these spaces to the fullest! 


Media City

A lovely spot to wander just out of Manchester’s city centre, by the waterfront. Surrounded by arts and culture all around, with regular events and food vendors around. Grab some pals and head here for a picturesque dusk walk.

Salford Quays

Across the water from Media City find Salford Quays, where you can enjoy a similar vibe. City lights at night, good food and regular events. We love to chill around here on a summer evening with wine and picky snacks, or with a takeaway from one of our cheap eats.

Ancoats Marina

One of our fave Manny spots is Ancoats, and their marina tops it off. Home to some of our favourite independent food, stores and this walk! A stone's throw away from the city centre, if you’re in the area, it’s 100% worth a pit stop, or visit for part of the day.

Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens 

Hop on the tram to Disbury from the city centre to Manchester popular botanical gardens. Perfect for a summer stroll with a book or your favourite podcast. We love it here for the snippet of calm outside of the busy city centre.

The Fallowfield Loop 

Towards the south of Manchester’s city centre is The Fallowfield Loop, an off-road cycle path, pedestrian and horse riding route. Get those steps in and brave the whole 5.4 miles or head for a short walk with a coffee to go.

Alexandra Park 

60-acres of greenery out of the city centre. Enjoy a wonder by the lake come rain or shine to get a walk in before or after uni. Alexandra Park in Manchester is a great spot in summer for picky bits and a bev with friends.

Castlefield Canals

Get the tram to Deansgate and enjoy this little hub area just out of Manchester’s city centre. Here you can have a wonder by the canal, grab and coffee and have a read. A great spot in the summer, especially if you’re coming from the Nation Trust spot of the newly converted viaduct.

Heaton Park 

Home of Parklife festival in June, Heaton Park is a lovely spot to escape the city all year round. Enjoy their golf course, farm and manor house for a full day. They have picnic benches dotted around for you to enjoy a whole afternoon there.
