What Is Recycle With Us?

This is a scheme we have created in partnership with Barnsley Hospice! It gives our customers an easy way of recycling their good quality unwanted clothes for a purpose and perks:

  • All clothes will be donated to Barnsley Hospice, a charity providing specialist care and support for people in South Yorkshire.

  • During Hallam Students' Union's Sustainability Week (17th-23rd March) you'll get a £5 voucher for your donation to spend in any Glass Onion store. 

  • You'll also get 100 loyalty points added to your Rewards Account every time you recycle with us.

  • It helps prolong the life of your clothes, saving them from landfill.

Who Are Barnsley Hospice? 

Barnsley Hospice provides specialist palliative and end of life care for adults living in Barnsley with a progressive life-limiting illness, and the people close to them. The hospice provides free support for people from the point of diagnosis and throughout their palliative care journey, including at the end of their life. Services include a 10-bedded inpatient unit, support and wellbeing service, counselling, bereavement support and more.

Martine Tune, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Nurse at Barnsley Hospice said: 

“To continue raising as much money as possible for the hospice, we are always looking at ways to generate more donations to the hub. Launching the ‘Recycle With Us’ partnership is a really exciting moment for us, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone at Glass Onion Vintage for choosing to support us in this way.”

How Does It Work?

  1. Come to any Glass Onion store in Sheffield, Leeds and Nottingham with items of clothing you wish to donate.
  2. Our lovely team will process your donation (we kindly ask for a minimum of 3 items, but the more the merrier!)
  3. Once your donation is processed, you'll receive a £5 digital voucher and 100 loyalty points will be added to your Rewards Account.
  4. Your donation is sent to Barnsley Hospice Retail Hub where it is sold, helping to raise much needed funds for their amazing charity.

What Can I Donate?

We accept:

Clean shirts, t-shirts, jumpers, cardigans, jackets, coats, shorts, trousers, jeans, dresses, jumpsuits, skirts, footwear and handbags.

We can’t accept:

Underwear, lingerie, socks, tights, jewellery, swimwear, towels, bedding and nightwear. We also can’t accept dirty or torn items.

What Are The Ts & Cs?

  1. Customers have to donate 3 or more items to qualify for £5 voucher and 100 points.
  2. Maximum £5 voucher and 100 points awarded per donation.
  3. Customers must by on our mailing list to receive the reward.
  4. Donated products must be empty, clean and not torn.
  5. Glass Onion have the right to amend or retract this offer at any time.
