Where it all began
Glass Onion started in 2005 with our Founder John selling vintage out of his Grandma’s coal shed in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. The next 15 years consisted of market stalls, festival pop-ups and 10 warehouse moves as we grew, but we’re still just a stone’s throw from where it all began.
The brand new second hand
We’ve since grown to become the UKs leading vintage clothing company, processing up to 20,000 kgs (44,000 lbs) of second hand clothing every single week at our HQ. Every piece has been thrown away and was destined for landfill.

We proudly operate four stores across the North of the UK, bringing our unique vintage to vibrant city centers. Our flagship store is nestled in the heart of Sheffield, reflecting our roots. You can also find us in Nottingham and Leeds, as well as at Meadowhall Shopping Centre
MAKING IT
Since 2016, our in-house remade factory has been transforming damaged clothes and off-cuts into new, wearable pieces. We produce up to 10,000 remade items a month. You can find these remade products in store, as well as a selection of our own-brand merch online.
