The History of 3D Emblem Harley Davidson T-shirts

This History of 3D Emblem:
3D Emblem was founded in 1952 by a pilot who served in WW2. It was an independent, small scale print shop in Ft. Worth, Texas. In the 70’s the owner took on a partner and began screen printing shirts, jackets and jerseys mostly for local youth sports teams and businesses. Harley Davidson partnered with 3D emblem and until 1994 they had a license to sell and produce Harley merchandise.
Why are 3D Emblem Harley Davison T-shirts so desirable?
Their designs are considered the best quality in comparison to other companies that had the license to produce Harley merchandise. 3D Emblem employed extremely talented artists who were able to produce their highly detailed, desirable graphics.
Which designs are the most desirable changes over time, but currently the double-sided prints, illustrations of people and double American flag designs are the most collectible.
How Can You Spot a Fake 3D Emblem T-Shirt?
It's easier to spot a fake if you already have a 3D Emblem shirt you know is authentic because there can be some clear indicators (but if not, Google can help).
The printing process that 3D used was so intricate that it is nearly impossible to replicate the colours they used and how they looked after being screened.
One of the easiest ways to spot a fake 3D shirt is usually by looking at the spacing of the “3D Emblem Ft. Worth, Tx” text that appears below almost all graphics. If you have another shirt to compare it to, the size and spacing are usually pretty easy to tell if the shirt is fake. Also, keep an eye out for the artist’s initials (if they were on the original) since this is pretty hard to re-screen and often left out.
Sometimes the registered mark (the circle with the R in the middle) is missing on fakes. Then there are also the tags- often the gold is not quite dark enough or the thickness of the letters is offset.
