Where Locals in Manchester Go For Brunch: The Best Cafes
Heading out for lunch or need a coffee to go? Whether it’s a banging sandwich or a perfectly roasted cup of coffee, we’ve got a list of our favourite places to go off the beaten track, where the locals love it.
Just Between Friends

A simple, cosy cafe located in the Northern Quarter. It serves food, coffee, and other warm and cold drinks. We love that their takeaway cups are also made from recycled materials.
Foundation Coffee House

Another Northern Quarter favourite is Foundation Coffee House, a bright, white-tiled space serving espresso drinks and light meals in industrial-chic surroundings. We love it here for an afternoon of work, or to take a book and have a little read.
The Koffee Pot
Get Directions 84-86 Oldham St, Manchester M4 1LE
A colourful, lively brunch spot serving coffee by day and cocktails at night. We recommend enjoying a bite from their menu of comfort food breakfast classics, including bagels, baked eggs, and a full English.
Fig + Sparrow
Get Directions 20 Oldham St, Manchester M1 1JA
We love a cosy spot, and Fig + Sparrow is definitely that. Serving delicious, innovative breakfasts, try their 'on toast' menu for a classic avocado on toast or their "boujee" option, Truffle Honey Goats Cheese.
Pot Kettle Black

A down-under-inspired spot up north. Expect brunch, brews, bakes, and booze from Pot Kettle Black in Barton Arcade, or at their spot on Angel Gardens. Their brunch menu is packed with Aussie-inspired bites, including French toast and poached eggs. They really do it all, with their offering of roasts on Sundays too at their Angel Gardens location.
Moose Coffee

A proudly independent and family-owned brunch spot serving authentic North American breakfast and bites since 2006. Their menu represents over seventeen years of dedication to providing the best-tasting brunch, including their "Might Moose" breakfast and fresh sandwiches.
Ezra and Gil

Coffee for the young, senior citizens, and general misfits of Manny! Head to one of their two central spots for a delicious treat, coffee, and brunch. Their menu is filled with brunch options and evening small plates, too—we love an all-rounder.
Federal

Our second Antipodean recommendation in this blog is Federal, a little spot in Deansgate. Expect all-day brunch, treats, and coffee to sit in or to go. They also have a great line of merchandise for you to gift or grab for yourself!
Foley's
Get Directions XYZ building, 2 Hardman Blvd, Manchester M3 3AQ
A calm, central spot serving a range of beverages that include coffee, tea, craft sodas, and wines. Head here for a midweek read or a work spot. Foley's is located in Spinningfields, which is also home to an array of events!
Night and Day Cafe
Get Directions 26 Oldham St, Manchester M1 1JN
Love an all-rounder? Us too! The Night and Day Cafe is certainly that. Serving up breakfast for under a tenner by day and Big Mouth pizza at night, alongside events including DJs, exhibitions, and live music.
